What we store, and why

Email updates

If you ask to hear about new padel courts, padel price changes or new lists, we store your email address, the lists you chose, when you submitted the form and when you confirmed. We use it only to send those updates, a few emails a year at most. We never sell or pass it on.

Until you open the confirmation link, we store nothing about you: the details travel inside the link itself, encrypted, and the link stops working after seven days. Our email provider keeps a record that the confirmation email was sent.

Opening the link is your consent. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we stop emailing you as soon as you use it. To have your address deleted entirely, email hello@da-nang.com.

The emails are sent, and the list is held, by Loops (loops.so), our email provider.

List suggestions

What you type into “What should we list next?” is posted, with your email if you give one, to a private Telegram channel that only we read. We keep it for one year. An email given there joins the new-lists updates only after you confirm it, as above.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and which booking and contact links are used, so we know which lists are worth keeping up. It sets cookies (names starting with _ga) and records pages viewed, those clicks, your device and browser, and your approximate location. We don’t send it your email address, and it doesn’t run on the email confirmation pages. Google keeps this data for 2 months. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages and links are useful (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We don’t use it for advertising: Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. You can object at any time by emailing us, or block it by refusing cookies in your browser.

Cookies and browser storage

dn_confirmed: set when you open a confirmation link, for one year, so this browser can join another of our lists without a new confirmation email. It is encrypted and can only be read by our server.

_ga cookies: Google Analytics, as above.

After you use one of our forms, your email is kept in this browser tab’s session storage so the other form can be filled in for you. It never leaves your device and is gone when you close the tab.

Hosting and security

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes every request, including your IP address, and keeps short-lived request logs. To stop the forms being used for spam, we briefly count sign-ups per IP address and per email address; those counters reset within a minute.

Loops, Google, Telegram and Cloudflare may process data outside the EU. Those transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.
